There was considerable uncertainty about how to best deal with the threat of Islamic terrorism. Anglic peoples including the United States began a far-reaching "war on terror". Latin peoples were less directly affected. I do not yet have much detail on the responses of Germanic, Northeast European, Balkan, or Scandinavian peoples. In 2001, After a terrorist attack on New York City, the US began what was called a war on terror by attacking Afghanistan, and reorganized several government agencies with what was called the Patriot Act. In 2002, in the US, several corporations were found guilty of dubious or fraudulent accounting practices. In 2003, I have no events for Brazil. During November, events among Anglic peoples still need to be summarized. Events among Latin peoples are also difficult to summarize.
