Among the Anglic peoples, influence shifted from the British Empire to the US. Latin peoples were not as strong as before. Germanic peoples were at the center of the world wars. Northeastern Europe was dominated by Conmmunism, the Balkan peoples were fractured and divided, and Scandinavian countries were more or less on the fringes of these major conflicts. The Western powers began to divest themselves of their colonial empires, but left a cultural and institutional legacy that had substantially changed all other peoples. Two major world wars and a "Cold War" influenced events. |

Canada was also involved in World War I. Among Latin peoples, Italic peoples can be considered. The French were involved in World War I. Hispanic peoples were less involved. Mexico underwent the Mexican revolution. Among Germanic peoples, Germany was involved in World War I. Among Lusitanic peoples, few events are noted for Brazil.Among Northeast European peoples, Russia was defeated in World War I, withdrew, and underwent the Communist Revolution. Details of the early 1910s, late 1910s, early 1920s, and late 1920s are not yet compiled here.
Among Anglic peoples, I have few detail for British peoples of the United Kingdom, except that Ireland was granted independence. The United States underwent a rapid period of growth, followed by the Great Depression. Among Latin peoples Italic peoples, French peoples, and Hispanic peoples can be noted. Among Lusitanic peoples, few events are noted for Brazil. Among Germanic peoples, Germany struggled in the Great Depression, then began to rearm. Among Northeast European peoples, Russia began to industrialize following the Communist revolution. Details of the early 1920s late 1920s, early 1930s, and late 1930s are not yet compiled here.

Anglic peoples including United States were prominent and among the Allied powers in World War II. Latin peoples were developing. Italic peoples were allied with Germany in World War II, but were defeated, and began to recover afterwards. Among French peoples, France was occupied during World War II, but recovered afterwards. Hispanic peoples were little affected by World War II, but did not especially prosper. Among Germanic peoples, Germany was the leading Axis power in the WW II but was divided after the war. Among Northeast European peoples, the USSR including Russia and Ukraine was competing with the US as the other superpower. In the early 1940s The US entered into World War II late,on the side of the Allies, after being attacked by Japan in December 1941, and was closely involved in the surrender of both Germany and Japan. In the late 1940s, the United States was involved in creation of the United Nations and promoted the various decolonization movements that took place. In the early 1950s the US was involved in the Korean War. In the late 1950s, the US under Eisenhower was vigorously anti-Communist. I do not yet have details of 1956, 1957, 1958. 1959, or 1960.

Anglic peoples include the United Kingdom and the United States, which was involved in the Cold war with the USSR.. Latin peoples such as those of Italy developed somehat.. French peoples including France developed. Hispanic peoples included Mexico, which suffered considerable economic instability. Cities include Mexico City. Among Lusitanic peoples, Brazil was dominated by a military government. Germanic peoples including those of Germany began to recover from World War II, but were divided between West Germany and East Germany. Northeastern European peoples were dominated by the USSR, which was dominated by Russia. Balkan peoples were partly under Communist rule. In the early 1960s among Anglic peoples in Brazil Juscelino Kubitschek was succeeded by Joao Goulart. He was overthrown by the military, and Humberto de Alencar Castello Branco was chosen as President. Among Anglic peoples. the United States was involved in the Cold War, which nearly came to nuclear warfare in the Cuban Missile crisis. In about 1962, The United States began to send military aid and US troops to the aid of South Vietnam in its struggle against the Communist-ruled North Vietnam. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, succeeded by his Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson. In the late 1960s, Among Anglic peoples in the United States a civil rights movement with some civil unrest, resistance to the draft and the Vietnam war, and other institutions of society was taking place, and Richard M. Nixon was elected president. Among Latin peoples in Brazil there was a succession of military dictators, as Artur da Costa e Silva and Emilio Garrastazu Médici headed the government. Among Northeast European peoples, the USSR with Russia as its largest piece was dominant. In the early 1970s Among Anglic peoples the US was led by Nixon, who led negotiations to end the Vietnam War, but who was later forced out off office and succeded by Gerald Ford. Among Latin peoples, among Lusitanic peoples, in Brazil, the military government led by Ernesto Geisel had to deal with a shock in oil prices that moved it away from support of Israel. Among Northeast European peoples there was talk of detente and peaceful coexistence with the West. I do not yet have details of 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, or 1975. In the late 1970s, in Russia the gap between Western economics and the Soviet economy was noticeable. Among Anglic peoples, the United States was led mostly by the Carter administration. Among Latin peoples, among Lusitanic peoples, Ernesto Giesel of Brazil began moving toward civilian government and chose Joao Figueiredo as his successor. 1976, 1977, 1978, 1970, and 1980s can be connected.

Among Lusitanic peoples, In Brazil, Neves' elected vice president Jose Sarney headed a civilian government. Fernando Collor de Mello became the first popularly elected president in decades. Among Germanic peoples, the long-standing Berlin Wall was torn down and East Germany and West Germany were unified. Among Northeast European peoples, In Russia a liberalization and reform movement was initiated by Gorbachev. A wave of comparatively non-violent revolutions swept through eastern Europe. Among Northeast European peoples, in Russia Boris Yelsin suffered ill health and severe economic and social problems associated with the fall of Communist rule, and was succeeded by Vladimir Putin. In 1999 on the US, Clinton's impeachment trial ended with his acquittal, and the US participated along with NATO in airstrikes in the former Yugoslavia in the Kosovo conflict.
