History

Prehistory can be considered, although I do not yet have detials of early prehistory, middle prehistory, or late prehistory. I do not yet have many details of antiquity including the 5th millennium BC, the 4th millennium BC, the 3rd millennium BC, the 2nd millennium BC, or the early 1st millennium BC.

It can be followed from classical and medieval times, including early classical, late classical, and early medieval times. In the late medieval period, Details of the 11th century, 12th century, 13th century, and 14th century are lacking. In the 15th century, Portuguese sailors reached India by circumnavigating Africa, reached Brazil, and began establishing overseas ports and settlements.

Modern history

The Portuguese founded the colony of Brazil.

The Portuguese founded and ruled Brazil through the 16th century including the early 16th century, early mid 16th century, mid 16th century, late mid 16th century, and late 16th century. In the 17th century, the Portuguese and Brazil were also prominent. So far, I lack details of the early 17th century, early mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late-mid 17th century, and late 17th century.

In the 18th century, Brazil was ruled as a colony of Portugal. I do not yet have details for the early 18th century, early mid 18th century, or mid 18th century. The late mid 18th century including the early 1760s, late 1760s, early 1770s, and late 1770s can be connected. The late 18th century including the early 1780s, late 1780s, early 1790s, and late 1790s can be connected.

19th century

Brazil gained its independence. In the early 19th century, the Portuguese monarchy went to Brazil to escape Napoleon. I do not yet have details of the early 1800s, late 1800s, early 1810s, or late 1810s. In the early mid 19th century, part of the Portuguese royal family returned to Portugal, and another part stayed to rule Brazil. I have no details of the early 1820s, late 1820s, early 1830s, or late 1830s. I have no details of the mid 19th century including the early 1840s, late 1840s, early 1850s, or late 1850s. I lack details of the late-mid 19th century including the early 1860s, late 1860s, early 1870s, or late 1870s. In the late 19th century in Brazil, the slaves were emancipated, the imperial government of Brazil was overthrown and replaced by a Republican type of government. I do not yet have details of the early 1880s, late 1880s, early 1890s, or late 1890s.

20th century

I do not yet have a good summary of events in Portugal and Brazil.

In the early 20th century, Brazil participated to a limited extent in World War I, but I have little information on the early 1900s, late 1900s, early 1910s, or late 1910s. I have not yet examined details of the early mid 20th century including Brazil in the early 1920s, late 1920s, early 1930s, or late 1930s, or the mid 20th century including the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1950s, or late 1950s.

In the late mid 20th century, Brazil was ruled by a military government, but I do not yet have details of the early 1960s or late 1960s. In the early 1970s, Brazil can be considered, but I do not yet have details of 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, or 1975. In the late 1970s. in Brazil, Ernesto Geisel began moving toward civilian government and chose Joao Figueiredo as his successor. I do not yet have details of 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, or 1980.

Late 20th century

The early 1980s including 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985 can be connected. The late 1980s including 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990 can be connected. The early 1990s including 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995, can be connected. The late 1990s including 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000 can be connected.

Early 21st century

Portugal and Brazil were both active. In the early 2000s, Brazil has been prominent but I do not yet have details for 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, or 2005.

I do not yet have details of the late 2000s for Portugal or Brazil, including 2006 or 2007.

2008 can be connected with Brazil during the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter with Brazil during July, August, and September, and the fourth quarter in Brazil including October in Brazil and November in Brazil.

On Nov 3, Itaú and Unibanco announced they would merge their banking, credit, and insurance operations, creating the largest financial services group in Brazil and the Southern Hemisphere.

Events of 2009 in Portugal and Brazil can be considered. I do not yet have development for the first quarter. The second quarter 2009 including events of Brazil during April, May, and June is so far only weakly connected The third quarter 2009 including events of Brazil during July, August, and September 2009 can be connected. The fourth quarter including October 2009, November 2009, and December 2009 is barely connected, and so far only to Brazil.
