The British were involved in the Protestant Reformation and began tentative explorations of North America including some of what are now the United States and Canada. I have not yet examined details of the early 16th century, early mid 16th century, mid 16th century or late-mid 16th century. In the late 16th century, there was an unsuccessful attempts to settle a colony in North America.
The Anglic peoples began to expand. British peoples including the UK began a somewhat belated effort at worldwide expansion and colonization. North American colonies in what are now the United States, including some of what is now the northern US, and Canada were established. Australia was sighted, but not yet claimed.
