Modern History of Anglic Peoples

The British people of what are now the UK and Ireland can be examined. These colonized North America and established the Anglo-american peoples. The United States including its major regions of the Northern US, Southern US, and Western US were settled mostly by people of British origin. Canada was also settled largely by peoples of British Origin. British peoples also colonized Australia and New Zealand.

The British people of what are now the United Kingdom and Ireland can be examined. The Anglo-american peoples can also be examined. The United States including its major regions of the Northern US, Southern US, and Western US were settled mostly by people of British origin. Canada and Jamaica were also settled largely by peoples of British origin. British peoples also colonized Australia and New Zealand.

16th century

The British were involved in the Protestant Reformation and began tentative explorations of North America including some of what are now the United States and Canada. I have not yet examined details of the early 16th century, early mid 16th century, mid 16th century or late-mid 16th century. In the late 16th century, there was an unsuccessful attempts to settle a colony in North America.

17th century

The Anglic peoples began to expand. British peoples including the UK began a somewhat belated effort at worldwide expansion and colonization. North American colonies in what are now the United States, including some of what is now the northern US, and Canada were established. Australia was sighted, but not yet claimed. In the early 17th century, the first successful British colonies in North America were established. In the early mid 17th century, the British colonies in North America grew. In the mid 17th century, the British colonies in North America continued to grow. In the late-mid 17th century, the British colonies in North America continued to expand. In the late 17th century, the British colonies in North America continued to expand.

18th century

The Anglic peoples competed with neighbors for world position. The UK began expanding its influence in India. Ireland was ruled by the British. The United States in particular developed significantly and achieved independence. The Northern US was particularly significant. Canada remained an important British colony. Australia was claimed and was being explored and settled by the British. New Zealand was being explored. In the early 18th century the American colonies were expanding. In the early mid 18th century, the American colonies fought the French colonies. I do not yet have details of the early 1720s, late 1720s, early 1730s, or late 1730s. In the mid 18th century, the American colonies were involved in the French and Indian wars. I do not yet have details of the early 1740s, late 1740s, early 1750s, or late 1750s. In the late mid 18th century, several of the British colonies in North America declared their independence as the United States. I do not yet have details for the early 1760s, late 1760s, early 1770s, or late 1770s. In the late 18th century, the independence of the British colonies was recognized and the United States formed a constitutional government. I do not yet have details of the early 1780s, late 1780s, early 1790s, or late 1790s.

19th century

Anglic peoples achieved world prominence in the 19th century, with the British Empire centered in the United Kingdom and in control of Ireland, although the United States was a growing power. the North was an important region, and it expanded into the Western region and reached transcontinental extent. Canada was also expanding westward. Australia was being settled by the British, and New Zealand came under British rule. In the early 19th century, the United Kingdom was involved in the Napoleonic wars. The United States expanded greatly with the Louisiana purchase. I do not yet have specific details of the early 1800s, late 1800s, early 1810s, or late 1810s. In the early mid 19th century, the United Kingdom abolished slavery and began a number of social reforms. There was considerable westward expansion and settlement in the United States. I do not yet have details of the early 1820s, late 1820s, early 1830s, or late 1830s. In the mid 19th century, the United Kingdom was involved in several wars in Asia. The United States expanded still further westward. I do not yet have details of the early 1840s. In the late 1840s, the US-Mexican war resulted in the United States gaining coast-to-coast extent. I do not yet have details of the early 1850s or late 1850s. In the late-mid 19th century, the United Kingdom led the British empire in still more colonial expansion. The United States followed a divisive civil war with reunification and westward expansion. The US Civil war took place in the early 1860s. The Era known as Reconstruction begain in the late 1860s. I do not yet have many details of the early 1870s or late 1870s. In the late 19th century, the British empire was most prominent, but the United States was a rising world power and was rapidly industrializing. I do not yet have details of the early 1880s, late 1880s, early 1890s, or late 1890s.

20th century

The British people of the United Kingdom and Ireland were replaced in world influence by the United States. The Northern region of the US, the Southern region of the US, and the Western region of the US were all significant. Canada had less influence in world affairs. Jamaica can be considered. Australia and New Zealand became increasingiy important. The early 20th century, early mid 20th century, mid 20th century, late-mid 20th century, late 20th century, and early 21st century can be considered.
