Social Structure

Social structure includes anthropological, cultural, and institutional, elements. Social differentiation and classes are also considered.

   

Anthropological structure

This includes social organization based on age and sex, race, and other such factors.

Cultural structure

This includes organization based on language, literacy, evident wealth or posessions, or customs or occupations.

Institutional structure

This includes social organization based on family affiliation, education or knowledge, economic prestige, political power, or religious affiliation.

Class organization

This includes such things as the different classes in a society, degrees of social mobility, and so forth. Racial and ethnic groups are also considered.

Community and regional structure

This includes such things as the number and size of communities in a society, the degree of urbanization, and regional subdivisions of a society.


Most areas of science including physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, and biology seem to be at best indirectly connected to social structure.

Personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography may be applicable.

Anthropology including connections to social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, and human ecology will be significant. Human geography including European geography, Asian geography, African geography, North American geography, South American georaphy, and Oceanic geography will be useful. Particular groups will be important.

Culture

Material culture including industrial technology, buildings, foodstuffs, clothing and dress, transportation, communication technology, and other artifacts will be essential to examination of the structure of a society. Conceptual culture including language, graphic arts, literature, mathematics, applied science, and philosophy will be useful. Behavioral culture including customs, occupations, recreation and entertainment, and cultural events will be useful.

Institutions

Families including marriage, parenting, kinship, and particular families are an important part of social structure. Education including research, teaching, cultural institutions, educational organization, and schools is an important part of social structure. Economics including economic activity, industries, and economic systems is part of social structure. Government including law, government structure, and government activity is part of social structure. Particular governments including local government, national government, and international government will also be useful. Religion including religious beliefs, religious practice, and religious organization is part of social structure. Particular religions including Abrahamic religion, Asiatic religion, secularism, and pagan religion is also part of social structure.

Other Sociology

Other areas of social structure and change will be closely connected. Social types including hunting and gathering societies, horticultural societies, agrarian society, and industrial society will be connected. Social change including social change factors and processes, and particular changes is significant. Examples will come from communities such as Los Angeles Examples can be gathered from peoples of the world. Nations such as Vietnam, Germany, Egypt, and Ethiopia will be connected.

Western civilization has examples of social structure in Mexico, and in cities such as Sao Paulo. Anglic peoples have exampie in nations such as the United States and in cities such as New York City. Latin peoples have examples of social structure in Brazil and in cities such as Mexico City. Northeast European peoples can be examined beginning with Russia

Asiatic peoples have examples of social structure in the Philippines, and in cities such as Shanghai . South Asian peoples have examples in India with its city of Bombay, Pakistan, and Bangladesh and in cities such as Delhi. Oriental peoples have examples in China and Japan and in cities such as Tokyo and Seoul. Southeast Asian peoples have examples in nations such as Indonesia.

African peoples including those of Nigeria will be significant.

American Indian peoples have examples of social structure which can be observed in Mexico and in cities such as Mexico City. South American Indians can be observed beginning with peoples of Brazil. North American Indian peoples have examples which can be observed in the United States.

History

Prehistory will be useful in examination of social structure. I lack details from early prehistory, middle prehistory, and late prehistory.

I also lack details on study of the subject during antiquity, and I will want to follow these concepts through the 5th millennium BC, the 4th millennium BC, the 3rd millennium BC, the 2nd millennium bC, and the early first millennium BC.

I lack also details on study of this subject in classical and medieval times, and will wish to follow these concepts through early classical, late classical, early medieval, and late medieval times.

Modern history

The 16th century century. The early 16th century, early mid 16th century, mid 16th century, late mid 16th century, and late 16th century can be connected.

The 17th century including the early 17th century, early mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late mid 17th century, and late 17th century can be connected.

In the 18th century it was also considered, and the early 18th century, early mid 18th century, mid 18th century, late-mid 18th century, and late 18th century can be connected.

It began to be examined more significantly in the 19th century including the early 19th century, early-mid 19th century, mid 19th century, late-mid 19th century, and late 19th century.

The 20th century can be examined somewhat in the early 20th century, and early-mid 20th century. The mid 20th century including the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1950s, and late 1950s can be connected.

In the late-mid 20th century events of the early 1960s, late 1960s, early 1970s, and late 1970s can be considered.

Current events of the late 20th century will require examination of events of the early 1980s, late 1980s, early 1990s, and late 1990s.

The early 21st century including the early 2000s can also be examined. 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 can be connected. The late 2000s including 2006 down to the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter, and fourth quarter, 2007 down to the 1st quarter, 2nd quarter with April, May, and June, the 3rd quarter with July, August, and September, and 4th quarter with October, November, and December can be connected.

2008 can be examined. The first quarter including January, February, and March can be connected. The second quarter with April, May, and June and third quarter with July, August, and September can be connected. The fourth quarter including October and November can also be considered.

The future including the near future with next month, (November 2008 and December 2008), next quarter, and next year can be considered. The middle future, and far future is not yet well examined.
