Poland is one of the 40 most populous countries in the world.

History

Prehistory

Early prehistory including the Pliocene, early Pleistocene, early mid Pleistocene, late mid Pleistocene, and late Pliestocene can be connected. I do not yet have details of middle prehistory including the period beginning 50,000 years ago, the period beginning 40,000 years ago, the period beginning 30,000 years ago, or the period beginning 20,000 years ago. . I do not yet have details of late prehistory including the early 8th millennium BC, the late 8th millennium BC, the early 7th millennium BC, the late 7th millennium BC, the early 6th millennium BC, or the late 6th millennium BC.

Antiquity

In the 4th millennium it was inhabited by Neolithic peoples. In the 3rd millennium, it was inhabited by Neolithic peoples, but the copper age and then the Bronze age began. The 2nd millennium included various Bronze age cultures. Nothing is known of late classical times except from archeology, and I have no specific information on the 1st century CE, the 2nd century CE, the 3rd century CE, or the 4th century CE. Little is known of early medieval times including the 6th century CE, the 7th century CE, the 8th century CE, or the 9th century CE. In the 10th century CE, The first recorded historical event was the baptism of a king in 966. In late medieval times, various kingdoms were present. The 11th century, 12th century and 13th century lack detail. In the 14th century, Poland was united and began to become a significant kingdom. In the 15th century, it was closely allied with the the Grand duchy of Luthuania.

Modern history

In the 16th century the Jagellion era is considered to have ended with a defeat of Poland by the Ottoman Empire, but the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth became the largest country in Europe. I do not yet have many details of the early 16th century, early mid 16th century, mid 16th century, late-mid 16th century, or late 16th century. In the 17th century it began as the largest country in Europe, but began to decline due to an invasion from Sweden,conflicts with Russians, and internal rebellions. I do not have many details of the early 17th century, early mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late-mid 17th century,or late 17th century. I lack details of the 18th century including the early 18th century, early mid 18th century, mid 18th century, late-mid 18th century, or lte 18th century.

In the 19th century it was important in European politics, though I lack details of the early 19th century, early-mid 19th century, or mid 19th century. The late-mid 19th century including the early 1860s, late 1860s, early 1870s, and late 1870s can be connected. Poland was divided between Germany, the Austrian-Hungarian empire, and Russia. 20th century

In the early 20th century, it was mostly ruled by Russia, but during World War I, Germany and Austria set up a new Kingdom of Poland, which after the war became the nucleus of a new state. In the early mid 20th century, the government was partly effective, but was overrun by the Gemans at the beginning of World War II. It was liberated by Russians in the late 1940s and gained some territory from Eastern Germany but was dominated by a Communist government imposed by the Soviet Union. I do not have details of the early 1950s or the late 1950s. In the late-mid 20th century it remained und Communist rule. I do not yet have details of the early 1960s, late 1960s, early 1970s, or late 1970s.

In the late 20th century, the anti-Communist "Solidarity" labor movement began to demonstrate the weaknesses of Soviet Communism. The Communist government collapsed without interference from the USSR and a new government was formed. I do not yet have specifics for the early 1980s. In the late 1980s including 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990 there was considerable anti-communist agitation. In the early 1990s, Poland was in transition to a non-Communist government. I do not yet have details for 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, or 1995. In the late 1990s Aleksandr Kwazniewski was president of Poland. I do not yet have details of 1996, 1997, 1998,.1999, or 2000.
