Colombia

Colombia is one of the 30 most populous countries in the world.

History

Antiquity and Classical and medieval history is connected with the American Indian peoples. Most of it is considered entirely modern. It was colonized in the 16th century by the Spanish. There were various explorations in the early 16th century, and the first permanent settlement was founded in the early-mid 16th century. A colonial capital was founded in the mid 16th century. Details of the late-mid 16th century and late 16th century are not yet available here. In the 17th century it continued as a colonial capital. So far I lack details of the early 17th century, early-mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late-mid 17th century, and late 17th century. In the 18th century it developed further. In the early 18th century, the viceroyalty of New Granada was established. In the early-mid 18th century, the viceyoyalty was removed and then reestablished. I have no details of the mid 18th century, late-mid 18th century, or late 18th century.

In the 19th century, it became an independent country in its modern form. In the early 19th century, under the leadership of Simon Bolivar, it gained independence from Spain. In the early mid 19th century, the republic of Greater Columbia broke up, and the country became known as the province of New Granada. I do not yet have details of the early 1820s, late 1820s, early 1830s, or late 1830s. I have no details for the mid 19th century including the early 1840s, late 1840s, early 1850s, or late 1850s. In the late-mid 19th century, New Granada was renamed the United States of Colombia. I do not yet have many details of the early 1869s, late 1860s, early 1870s, or late 1870s. In the late 19th century, it was renamed the Republic of Colombia. I do not yet have many details of the early 1880s, late 1880s, early 1890s, or late 1890s.

20th century

In the early 20th century, it was forced to recognize the independence of Panama, after having refused to permit contruction of the Panama Canal, although I do not yet have details for the early 1900s, late 1900s, early 1910s or late 1910s. I have few details for the early-mid 20th century including the early 1920s, late 1920s, early 1930s, or late 1930s. The mid 20th century including the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1940s, and late 1950s can be considered. I have few details for the late-mid 20th century including the early 1960s, late 1960s, early 1970s, or late 1970s.

I also lack details of the late 20th century including the early 1980s. The late 1980s including 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990 can be connected.
