Bulgaria is a nation in Europe. History I know little of it in prehistory including early prehistory, middle prehistory, or late prehistory. I do not yet have details for antiquity including the 5th millennium BC, the 4th millennium BC, the 3rd millennium BC, the 2nd millennium BC, or the early 1st millennium BC. It is somewhat known from classical and medieval times.In early classical times, it was part of Alexander's empire and was later conquered by the Romans. In late classical times, it was part of the Roman empire. In early medieval times, it was invaded by the Bulgars from Central Asia. In late medieval times it was at times independent, at times ruled by the Byzantine emire, and conquered by Turkish peoples.
