Shanghai is the largest largest city of China, and is one of the 10 largest in the world. HistoryShanghai was founded in classical and medieval times, more specifically in the late medieval period, as a fishing village in the 11th century. I do not yet have details of the 12th century, 13th century, 14th century, or 15th century. Modern historyI still lack details on the 16th century including the early 16th century, early mid 16th century, mid 16th century, late mid 16th century, and late 16th century. |

The 17th century including the early 17th century, early mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late-mid 17th century, and late 17th century can be connected. I also know little about it in the 18th century, except that it became an important area for the growing of cotton. The early, early-mid, mid, late-mid, and late 18th century lack details. In the 19th century, it became a center for European trade and the largest city in the country, though I lack specific details for the early, early-mid, mid, late-mid, or late 19th century. The 20th century is particularly important. Developments through the early 20th century can be considered. The early-mid 20th century including the early 1920s, late 1920s, early 1930s, and late 1930s can be connected. The mid-20th century including the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1950s, and late 1950s can be considered. The late-mid 20th century including the early 1960s, late 1960s, early 1970s, and late 1970s has not yet been examined. The late 20th century is especially important. Details through the early 1980s, late 1980s, early 1990s, and late 1990s are not yet included. The focus for now is on the early 21st century, including current events of the early 2000s. Its development through 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 will be considered eventually, but for now the late 2000s beginning in 2006 is getting the most immediate attention. The first through fourth quarters should be considered before long, but attention is being given first to 2007, particularly the first quarter. January and February are ended. This is being examined using the second quarter, third quarter, and fourth quarter including October,November, and December. 2008 including the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter during July, August, and September, and fourth quarter including October and November can be connected. Events of 2009 can be connected. 2010 including the first quarter 2010, second quarter 2010, third quarter 2010, and fourth quarter 2010 can be connected. The early 2010s can be connected. 2011 can be connected. The first quarter 2011 can be connected. January 2011 including 2011 week 1, 2011 week 2, 2011 week 3, 2011 week 4, 2011 week 5, and 2011 week 6 can be connected. February 2011 and March 2011 can be connected. The second quarter 2011 and third quarter 2011 can be connected. Its future including the near future, middle future, and far future is obscure. Peoples are significant. This belongs to Asiatic peoples, in particular Oriental peoples, and is a major city of China. This has a limited connection with Western civilization. Other cities are not so clearly connected, but Tokyo is a possibility. Connections to social structure and change will be considered. Social change including social change processes, social change types, and particular changes will be useful. Social types including hunting and gathering societies, horticultural societies, agrarian societies, and industrial societies can be connected. Social structure including anthropological structure, cultural structure, institutional structure, and class structure can be considered. The institutions of family and education will also be significant. Religion including beliefs, practice, and organization will be especially significant. Particular traditions include Asiatic, secular, Abrahamic, and pagan in roughly that order. Government including law, government activity, government structure, and particular government is also useful. Economics including industries, activities, economic systems, and companies will be significant also. Culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture will also be significant. Anthropology including social foundations, demography, human geography, physical anthropology, and particular groups will also be useful. Personal studies are less useful for the human body and psychology than for biographies Physical and natural science is for the most part indirectly connected. Physics and chemistry are less useful than astronomy, earth science, and biology. |
