Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the second largest city of the United States, and is one of the 10 largest in the world.

Its history, which is entirely modern, will be examined as the site develops. It was founded in the 18th century, specifically the late 18th century (1781). In the 19th century it grew rapidly. In the early 19th century it was under Spanish rule, and in the early-mid 19th century, it was under Mexican rule after Mexican independence. In the mid-19th century it came under American rule following the Mexican War. In the late-mid 19th century, the Southern Pacific Railroad reached Lost Angeles, and in the late 19th century, oil was discovered.

It has grown substantially in the 20th century. In the early 20th century, completion of a major aqueduct gave it a good supply of water. I do not have many details of the early 1900s, late 1900s, early 1910s, or late 1910s. In the early-mid 20th century, aviation and motion pictures became major industries. I do not yet have details of the early 1920s, late 1920s, early 1940s, or late 1930s. In the mid 20th century, it was a major seaport in World War II and grew even more. I do not yet have details of the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1950s, or late 1950s. In the late-mid 20th century, several race-related riots and other incidents took place. I do not yet have many details of the early 1960s, late 1960s, early 1970s, or late 1970s.

In the late 20th century its expansion seems to have slowed a little. Details through the early 1980s, late 1980s, and early 1990s are not yet present. The late 1990s including 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000 can be connected.

Attention is being given to the early 21st century including the early 2000s. Details through 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 are not yet present.

For now, attention is given to current events of the late 2000s beginning in 2006. Events through the fourth quarter should be discussed before long.

Current events are discussed in 2007 including the first quarter and second quarter. They are also discussed in the third quarter including July, August, and September , and in the fourth quarter including October, November, and December.

2008 including the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter during July, August, and September, and fourth quarter including October and November can be considered.

2009 including the first quarter 2009, second quarter 2009, and third quarter 2009 can be connected. The fourth quarter 2009 including October 2009, November 2009, and December 2009 can be connected. 2010 including the first quarter 2010, second quarter 2010, third quarter 2010, and fourth quarter 2010 can also be connected.

The early 2010s can be connected. 2011 can be connected. The first quarter 2011 can be connected. January 2011 including 2011 week 1, 2011 week 2, 2011 week 3, 2011 week 4, 2011 week 5, and 2011 week 6 can be connected. February 2011 and March 2011 can be connected. The second quarter 2011 and third quarter 2011 can be connected.

Its future including near future, middle future, and late future is obscure.

Peoples are highly important to Los Angeles. This city belongs to Western Civilization, particularly Anglic peoples more particularly Anglo-American peoples, of the United States, but it also has historical connections to Latin peoples. Connections to other cities are not clear. Connections to social structure and change will be considered. Social change including particular changes, social change processes, and social change factors will be useful. Social types including hunting and gathering, horticultural, agrarian, and industrial societies can be connected. Social structure including anthropological structure, cultural structure, institutional structure, and class structure can be connected.

The institutions will be highly significant. Religion including beliefs, practice, organization, and particular traditions will be significant. Government including law, government activity, government structure, and particular governments will be significant. Economics, education, and families will be important.

Culture of Los Angeles including behavioral culture, conceptual culture, and material culture will also be significant.

This also depends heavily on anthropology including social foundations, demography, human geography, physical anthropology, human ecology, and particular groups.

Personal studies are less useful for studies of the human body and psychology than for biographies

Physical and natural science is for the most part indirectly connected. Physics and chemistry are less useful than astronomy, earth science, and biology.
