Delhi is the second largest city of India, and is one of the 10 largest in the world. Its history will be examined as the site develops. I know little of it in prehistory, antiquity, or classical and medieval times. Although the site was occupied in early classical and late classical times and in the early medieval period, I have no details. The first "city" of Delhi is considered to have been founded in the late medieval period, in the 11th century. I do not yet have details of the 12th century, 13th century, 14th century, or 15th century. |

Its modern history is particularly interesting. I lack details on its development in the 16th century including the early 16th century, early mid 16th century, mid 16th century, late-mid 16th century, and late 16th century. The 17th century including the early 17th century, early-mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late-mid 17th century, and late 17th century can be connected. In the 18th century it ws the capital of the Mughal empire, though I lack details on the early 18th century, early mid 18th century, mid 18th century, late-mid 19th century, and late 18th century. In the 19th century, it remained important as the capital of the remnants of the Mughal empire through the early, early mid 19th century, and mid 19th century, until the British government officially took control of the country. Details of the late-mid 19th century including the early 1860s, late 1860s, early 1870s, and late 1870s are not yet available. Details of the late 19th century including the early 1880s, late 1880s, early 1890s, and late 1890s are not yet available. The 20th century is also significant. In the early 20th century, the British shifted their capital to the "eighth city", called New Delhi. I do not yet have details of the early 1900s, late 1900s, early 1910s, or late 1910s. Details of the early-mid 20th century including the early 1920s, late 1920s, early 1930s, and late 1930s can be connected. The mid 20th century including the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1950s, and late 1950s can be considered. Details late mid 20th century including the early 1960s, late 1960s, early 1970s, and late 1970s are not yet available. The late 20th century has more current events. Details through the early 1980s, late 1980s, early 1990s, and late 1990s are not yet available. The focus is on current events of the early 21st century beginning in the early 2000s. Details through 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 are not yet present. Events of the late 2000s including 2006 are soon to be examined. Events through the 4th quarter are not yet present. For 2007, those of first quarter should be added soon. January and February are ended. The second quarter can still be examined. The third quarter including July, August, and September can be examined. The fourth quarter including October, November, and December has the most recent events. For 2008 including the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter including July, August, and September, and fourth quarter including October and November do not yet have the most recent events. Events of 2009 and the first quarter 2009, second quarter 2009, third quarter 2009, and fourth quarter 2009 can be connected. 2010 including the first quarter 2010, and events of January 2010, February 2010, and March 2010, second quarter 2010, third quarter 2010, and fourth quarter 2010 can be considered. The early 2010s can be connected. 2011 can be connected. The first quarter 2011 can be connected. January 2011 including 2011 week 1, 2011 week 2, 2011 week 3, 2011 week 4, 2011 week 5, and 2011 week 6 can be connected. February 2011, and March 2011 can be connected. The second quarter 2011 and third quarter 2011 can be connected. Its future including the near future including next month, next quarter, and next year, the middle future, and far future is obscure. Connections to peoples are more easily followed. Connections to most nations are not clear. Delhi belongs to Asiatic peoples, in particular South Asian peoples, and the nation of India. The connection of other cities is not yet clear, but possibilities include Tokyo, Seoul, and Mexico City. Connections to social structure and change will be considered. Social change including social change processes, social change factors, and particular changes can also be connected. Connections to social types including hunting and gathering, horticultural, agrarian, and industrial types can be considered. Social structure including anthropological structure, cultural structure, institutional structure, and class structure can be considered. The institutions of families and education will be useful. Religion including beliefs, practice, and organization will be very useful. Of the particular traditions, Asiatic, Abrahamic, secularist, and pagan are useful in about that order. Government including law, government activity, government structure, and particular governments will also be useful. Economics including industries, activities, economic systems, and companies will be significant also. Connections of culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture will also be developed. Anthropology including social foundations, demograpny, human geography and specifically Asian geography, human ecology, and particular groups wll also expand. Personal studies are less useful for the human body and psychology than for biography Physical and natural science is for the most part indirectly connected. Physics and chemistry are less useful than astronomy, earth science, and biology. |
