Bogotá is the largest city of Colombia and is one of the 40 largest in the world. Its history is entirely modern. It was founded in the 16th century, specifically the early mid 16th century (1538) by the Spanish, and during the mid 16th century, late mid 16th century, and late 16th century was an important center of colonial government and culture. I have no details of the 17th century incuding the early 17th century, early mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late mid 17th century, or late 17th century. I have little information for the 18th century including the early 18th century, early mid 18th century, mid 18th century, late-mid 18th century, and late 18th century, except that it rountinued to be an important center of Spanish colonial government and culture. |

In the 19th century I have few details. I know little of the early 19th century. In the early mid 19th century, it became the capital of Gran Colombia when the revolution against Spain succeeded. After the failure of Gran Colombia, it was the capital of the nation of Colombia in the mid 19th century, late-mid 19th century, and late 19th century. In the 20th century including the early 20th century, early-mid 20th century, mid 20th century, and late-mid 20th century it has remained a national capital.
