History

Algiers seems to have developed from a Phoenician settlement in antiquity. In Classical and medieval times, it developed. In early classical or late classical times, there was a roman town on the sited. It is considered to have been founded in early medieval times, in 944. Late medival times can be connected as well. It has developed substantially in modern times and the 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, 19th century, and 20th century can be connected. The future has not yet been examined.
