c. 600 BC - c. 650 BC Zoroaster, founder of Zoroastrianism, lives and preaches in Persia.
c. 40-60 CE, Paul, converted from Judaism to Christianity, establishes non-Jewish Christian congregations in Greece and Asia Minor, within the Roman empire.
c. c 230-270 CE Mani establishes Manicheanism in Persia.
c 300 CE. Constantine adopts Christianity as the state religion of the Roman empire, moves capital to Byzantium/Contantinople/Istanbul, and divides the Empire into Eastern and Western.
1095 - CE. Pope Urban II calls the First Crusade, initiating European attempts to control Palestine, then under Muslim rule.
c. 1915-1918 CE. World War I, the "Great War" changes the modern world.
c. 1938 - 1945. World War II. Germany under the rule of Hitler and Japan attempt military conquest of Europe and Asia. England, the United States led by Roosevelt, and Russia (the USSR) under Stalin are the chief opponents and combine to defeat Germany and Japan.

Social structure and change and communities will also be important. Anatolian peoples are neighbors to Mesopotamian, Persian, Levantine, Egyptian, and North african peoples, and not far from the Arabian peoples. There are also close connections to Central Asia. Indian, Southeast asian, and Oriental peoples are farther away. There are also strong connections to Western civilization, but few directly to African or American Indian peoples. The only nation so far identified is Turkey The history of Anatolian peoples from prehistory and antiquity can be considered. There was a break with antiquity in classical and medieval times. Modern history is significant. The 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, and 19th century are especially important. In the 20th century, the Ottoman empire failed and the modern nation of Turkey succeeded it.The future will be considered as the site develops. |
