History of North American Indian Peoples

History can be applied to the examination of Eastern North American Indian peoples, Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American Indian peoples.

   

History

Prehistory

In early prehistory, North America is thought to have been uninhabited by humans. During middle prehistory, modern humans seem to have immigrated from the Old world and began peopling what is now the United States. I do not yet have details of the period beginning 50,000 years ago, the period beginning 40,000 years ago, the period beginning 30,000 years ago, or the period beginning 20,000 years ago. They developed during late prehistory in what are now the United States and Canada. I do not yet have details of the early 8th millennium BC, the late 8th millennium BC, the early 7th millennium BC, the late 7th millennium BC, the early 6th millennium BC, or the late 6th millennium BC.

Antiquity

Events of what are now the United States and Canada can be considered. The 5th millennium BC including the early 4th millennium BC, the early mid 4th millenium BC, the mid 4th millennium BC, the late mid 4th millennium BC, and the late 4th millennium BC can be connected. The 4th millennium BC including the early 4th millennium BC, the early mid 4th millennium BC, the mid 4th millennium BC, the late mid 4th millennium BC, and the late 4th millennium BC can be connected. The 3rd millennium BC including the early 3rd millennium BC, the early mid 3rd millennium BC, the mid 3rd millennium BC, the late mid 3rd millennium BC, and the late 3rd millennium BC can be connected. Modern history

Eastern North American Indian peoples, Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American peoples of what are now the the United States and Canada can be examined.

The 16th century including the early 16th century, early-mid 16th century, mid 16th century, late-mid 16th century and late 16th century can be examined.

17th century

Eastern North American Indian peoples, Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American Indian peoples can be considered.

The early 17th century, early mid 17th century, mid 17th century, late-mid 17th century, and late 17th century can also be examined.

18th century

Eastern North American Indian peoples, Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American Indian peoples were a ssignificant concern in what are now the United States and Canada.

The early 18th century and early mid 18th century can be considered. The mid 18th century can be connected. In the late-mid 18th century, the British colonies declared and fought for their independence as the United States. I do not yet have details of the early 1760s, late 1760s, early 1770s, or late 1770s. In the late 18th century, the United States was granted independence, which prompted various changes in policy toward North American Indian peoples. I do not yet have details of the early 1780s, late 1780s, early 1790s, or late 1790s.

19th century

Eastern North American Indian peoples, Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American Indian peoples were a major concern in what is now the United States and in Canada. These peoples were being conquered and subjugated.

In the early 19th century, the US expanded the area it claimed considerably with the Louisiana Purchase. I do not yet have details of the early 1800s, late 1800s, early 1810s, or late 1810s. In the early-mid 19th century, the US expanded westard, scattering and displacing many American Indian peoples. I do not yet have details of the early 1820s, late 1820s, early 1830s, or late 1830s. In the mid 19th century, the US continued to expand westward, scattering and displacing many American Indian peoples. I do not yet have details of the early 1840s, late 1840s, early 1850s, or late 1850s. In the late-mid 19th century, following the US Civil war, the Indian wars began to subjugate them, especially in the Western United States. I do not yet have details of the early 1860s, late 1860s, early 1870s, or late 1870s. In the late 19th century, they were completely subjugated in the United States. I do not yet have details of the early 1880s, late 1880s, early 1890s, or late 1890s.

20th century

Eastern North American Indian peoples, Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American Indian peoples have been submerged by Western civilization in the United States and Canada.

They have been considered in the early 20th century, including in the United States. Events of the early 1900s, late 1900s, early 1910s, and late 1910s can be considered. They have been briefly considered in the early mid 20th century, including the United States. Events of the early 1920s, late 1920s, early 1930s, and late 1930s can be connected.

Mid 20th Century

Eastern North American Indian peoples, Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American indian peoples may contrubute to knowledge of this period.

Events of the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1950s, and late 1950s can be connected.

Late-mid 20th century
