Prehistory, antiquity, and classical and medieval times can be consdered. Modern history is the best known. The future can be examined.

   

History

The history of Northern East African peoples, Interior East African peoples, and Central East African peoples can be examined.

Prehistory

The prehistory of Northern East Africa, Interior East Africa, and Central East Africa has mostly been set aside. The early prehistory of Northern East Africa can be considered, and includes some of the oldest known human remains. Central East Africa also has remains dating to this period. Interior East Africa is something of a blank spot. I do not yet have details of the Pliocene, early Pleistocene, early mid Pleistocene, late mid Pleistocene, or late Pleistocene. Middle prehistory of Ethiopia is less well known. I do not yet have details for the period beginning 50,000 years ago, the period beginning 40,000 years ago, the period beginning 30,000 years ago, or the period beginning 20,000 years ago. Late prehistory of East Africa is not well known. I do not yet have details for the early 8th millennium BC, late 8th millennium BC, early 7th millennium BC, late 7th millennium BC, early 6th millennium BC, and late 6th millennium BC.

Antiquity

Ethiopia, Sudan, and Tanzania have been mostly set aside.

I have few details for the 5th millennum BC including Ethiopia. The early 5th millennium BC, the early mid 5th millennium BC, the mid 5th millennium BC, the late mid 5th millennium BC, and the late 5th millennium BC can be considered. The 4th millennium BC including Ethiopia can be considered. I do not yet have details of the early 4th millennium BC, the early mid 4th millennium BC, the mid 4th millennium BC, the late mid 4th millennium BC, or the late 4th millennium BC. In the 3rd millennium BC, there is limited reference to peoples of Ethiopia from peoples of other regions. I have no details of the early 3rd millennium BC, the early mid 3rd millennium BC, the mid 3rd millennium BC, the late mid 3rd millennium BC, or the late 3rd millennium BC. In the 2nd millennium BC, there is limited reference to peoples of Ethiopia from other peoples. I do not yet have details of the early 2nd millennium BC, the early mid 2nd millennium BC, the mid 2nd millennium BC, the late mid 2nd millennium BC, or the late 2nd millennium BC. In the early first millennium BC, there is limited reference to peoples of Ethiopia from other civilizations. I do not yet have details of the 10th century BC, the 9th century BC, the 8th century BC, the 7th century BC, or the 6th century BC.

Classical and medieval history

Northern East African including Ethiopia can be considered. Interior East Africa including Sudan can be considered. Central East African peoples including those of Tanzania and Kenya can be connected. Early classical history including Ethiopia, Sudan, Tanzania, and Kenya is not well known. I do not yet have details of the 5th century BC, the 4th century BC, the 3rd century BC, the 2nd century BC, or the 1st century BC. In late classical times I have few details of Northern East Africa, except that Christianity was adopted in Ethiopia. I do not yet have details of Interior East African peoples including those of Sudan, or of Central East African peoples including those of Tanzania and Kenya. Details of the 1st century CE, 2nd century CE, 3rd century CE, 4th century CE, or 5th century CE. I have few details of early medieval times including the North Eastern African peoples of Ethiopia, except that the Christianized kingdom of Axum seems to have declined. I also lack information on Interior East African peoples including Sudan, and Central East African peoples of Tanzania and Kenya. I do not yet have further details of the 6th century, 7th century, 8th century, 9th century, or 10th century. I do not yet have details of late medieval history including. Northern East African peoples including Ethiopia were mostly Islamicized. Interior East African peoples including those of Sudan and Central East African peoples including those of Tanzania and Kenya were as well. I lack details for the 11th century, 12th century, 13th century, 14th century, and 15th century.

Modern history

Northern East Africa including Ethiopia and Somalia, Interior East Africa including Sudan and Chad Central East Africa including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi has not yet been well explored. I do not yet have details of the 16th century including the early 16th century, early-mid 16th century, mid 16th century, late-mid 16th century, or late 16th century. I also lack details of the 17th century including the early 17th century, early mid 17th century, mid 17th century, and late 17th century.

18th century

Details of the early 18th century, early mid 18th century, mid 18th century, and late mid 18th century are not yet present. The late 18th century including the early 1780s, late 1780s, early 1790s, and late 1790s can be connected.

19th century

, Ethiopia resisted invasion by Egypt, and later, Italy. Sudan was being explored by Europeans. Tanzania and Kenya were being claimed by Germans and British. I lack details of Uganda. Details of the early 19th century can be examined. I do not yet have details of the early 1800s, late 1800s, early 1810s, or late 1810s. The early mid 19th century including the early 1820s, late 1820s, early 1830s, and late 1830s can be examined. The mid 19th century including the early 1840s, late 1840s, early 1850s, and late 1850s can be examined. The late mid 19th century including the early 1860s, late 1860s, early 1870s, and late 1870s can be examined. For the late 19th century, I do not yet have details of the early 1880s, late 1880s, early 1890s, or late 1890s.

20th century

East Africa has become more significant in world affairs. Ethiopia has not yet been well examined. Sudan has not yet been well examined. I do not yet have details for Tanzania and Kenya. Details of the early 20th century including the early 1900s, late 1900s, early 1900s, and late 1900s can be connected. The early mid 20th century including the early 1920s, late 1920s, early 1930s, and late 1930s can be considered. The mid 20th century including the early 1940s, late 1940s, early 1950s, and late 1950s can be connected.

Late-mid 20th century
