Electric current

Electric current includes areas of current definition, EMF, resistance, direct current circuits, and alternating current circuits.

Current definition

This will be described by equations.

EMF

This will be described by equations.

Resistance

This will be described by equations.

Direct current circuits

This will be described by equations.

Alternating current circuits

These are described by more complex equations.

This is connected first to other areas of physics. Mechanics including particle mechanics, rigid body mechanics, nonrigid mechanics, and gravitation is somewhat useful. Thermodynamics, mostly including statistical mechanics, but also classical thermodynamics and nonclassical thermodynamics also has possible applications.

This depends heavily on electrostatics including electric charge, electric charge distribution, electric force, electric field, electric potential, electric flux, capacitance, and electrical properties of matter, but is also connected to magnetism and optics. Relativity and quantum physics can also be connected. The structure of matter including subatomic physics, atomic physics, molecular physics, bulk matter, and exotic matter is connected.

Chemistry including substances, changes, and systems may produce electric current. Astronomy including cosmology, galactic astronomy, stellar astronomy, and solar system astronomy also suggests some applications. Earth science including geology, hydrospheric science, atmospheric science (for example, lightning), physical geography, and geohistory also has examples. Biology including molecular biology, cell biology, organism biology, systematics, ecology, and biohistory is less directly useful.

Personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography are also related to electric current. Anthropology including social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, human ecology, human geography, and particular groups is less useful. Culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture will also be extremely important. Institutions including families, education, economics, government, and religion will also be useful. Sociology including social structure and change, communites, and peoples of the world will also be connected. History is connected. Prehistory, antiquity, and classical and medieval times are poorly known. Electric current has been studied mostly in modern times, and its future is obscure.
