Mesozoic geology

248 Million years ago to 65 million years ago. This can be divided into Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods.

   

Triassic Epoch

248-206 Million years ago. Most of the earth's land was combined in a single supercontinent called Pangaea.

Jurassic Epoch

206-146 Million years ago. Pangaea began to breakup and to split into Laurasia and Gondwana.

Cretaceous Epoch

146-65 The breakup of Pangaea continued, with the southern continent of Gondwana breaking up also. New coastlines developed, and climates became cooler.
