Deuterostomes

The invertebrate deuterostomes are at present collected into four groups: The echinoderms, hemichordtes, urochordates, and cephalochordates.

Echinoderms

This large and common group of marine animals includes sea lilies, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, sea urchins, sand dollars, and starfish

Hemichordates

These "half chordates" are an obscure marine branch of the animal family. Examples include acorn worms and the extinct graptolites, which are common fossils. The larval forms are similar to those of the Echinoderms.

Urochordates

Urochordates, also called Tunicates, commonly known as sea quires, are another small branch marine animals that have embryonic forms closely related to the caphalochordates.

Cephalochordates

More commonly known as lancelets, these marine animals form a very small branch of the animal kingdom, but are important far more than their numbers would indicated, because their embryonic development is so smilar to that of the vertebrates.
