Cosmology is not well understood. Theories are based on a limited amount of data and are regularly revised based on new discoveries.

History

The history of cosmology is fairly recent. This is indistinguishable from stellar astronomy through classical and medieval times.

It is only during the modern period, including the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th centuries that it can be clearly identified. The 20th century including the early 20th century, early mid 20th century, mid 20th century, late mid 20th century, late 20th century, and early 21st century might be connected. The early 21st century including the early 2000s, late 2000s, and early 2010s can be connected. The future might be examined.

Sociology

Peoples of the world including Asiatic peoples, Western Civilization, African peoples, and American Indian peoples can be connected somewhat. Nations such as the United States, China, India, and Indonesia can be connected. Communities such as Tokyo, Seoul, Mexico City, and New York City can be connected. Social structure and change including social change, social types, and social structure can be connected.

Institutions including families, education, economics, government, and religion can be connected. Culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture can also be connected. Anthropology including social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, human ecology, human geography, and particular groups can also be connected. Personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography may be of some use.

Cosmology depends rather heavily on physics, including some mechanics, thermodynamics, and electromagnetism. It also depends rather heavily on relativity and quantum mechanics as well as on structure of matter. It depends somewhat on chemistry, including stubstances, changes, and particular systems. It also depends on other areas of astronomy including solar system astronomy, stellar astronomy, and mostly cosmology. Connections to earth science and biology are rather weaker.
