Cosmology is not well understood. Theories are based on a limited amount of data and are regularly revised based on new discoveries. |

Cosmology depends rather heavily on physics, including some mechanics, thermodynamics, and electromagnetism. It also depends rather heavily on relativity and quantum mechanics as well as on structure of matter. It depends omewhat on chemistry, including stubstances, changes, and particular systems. It also depends on other areas of astronomy including solar system astronomy, stellar astronomy, and mostly cosmology. Connections to earth science and biology are rather weaker. |

Personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography may be of some use. Anthropology including social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, human ecology, human geography, and particular groups can also be connected. Culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture can also be connected. Institutions including families, education, economics, government, and religion can be connected. Sociology including social structure and change can be connected. Communities such as Tokyo, Seoul, Mexico City, and New York City can be connected. Peoples of the world including Asiatic peoples, Western Civilization, African peoples, and American Indian peoples can be connected somewhat. Nations such as the United States, China, India, and Indonesia can be connected. The history of cosmology is fairly recent. This is indistinguishable from stellar astronomy through classical and medieval times. It is only during the modern period, including the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th centuries, and especially the 20th century that it can be clearly identified. |
