Ferdinand Magellan

Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese navigator and explorer, the leader of the first known expedition to sail around the world. He was born in 1450 CE and died in 1521 CE before completing the voyage. More details of his life and career will be considered as the site develops.

Sociology including social structure and change and communities will be important. Peoples of the world will be important. Magellan is associated with Western Civilization. Magellan was born in late medieval times, and died in the 16th century.
