Charles Robert Darwin was born in Shropshire, England, Feb 12, 1809. His early life was undistinquished, but he developed an interest in natural science. From 1831 to 1836 he sailed as a naturalist aboard the HMS Beagle, where he made the observations that influenced his later writings. |

In 1856 he began writing a detailed account of his theory of evolution, and in 1859 published an abstract, "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection". The work was highly controversial. It was generally accepted by scientists, but bitterly opposed by conservative religious believers, and the controversy continues to the present. It was followed in 1871 by "The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex", which was equally controversial. Darwin died on 19 Apr 1882 |

Science is at present poorly connected to Darwin. Personal studies are also not well connected, though other biography may be significant. Anthropology including social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, and human ecology will be useful. human geography will eventually be useful. Particular groups may be useful. Culture including material culture will be vital. Conceptual culture including language, graphic arts, literature, philosophy, applied science, and philosophy can be connected. Behavioral culture includign customs, occupations, recreation and entertainment, and cultural events can be considered. |

Institutions are also significant. Family including marriage, parenting, kinship, and particular families is signifcant. Education including research, teaching, cultural institutions, educational organization, and schools is connected. I have little information on his connection to economics including economic activities, industries, or economic systems. I have little information on the role of government including law, government structure, government activity, and particular governments. Religion was important in his life, as his scientific work placed him in conflict with accepted religious belief. Connections of practice, organization, and particular religions can be examined. Sociology is also important, and social structure and change and certain communities will be, although peoples are easier to identify. He was a product of Western civilization, particularly Anglic peoples. He lived in the United Kingdom. History is also significant. His life and legacy are entirely modern. Darwin lived in the 19th century. He was born in the early 19th century. In the early-mid 19th century, he was educated as a naturalist and sailed aboard a British ship, HMS Beagle making various observations of nature. In the mid 19th century, Darwin developed and wrote about his theories of evolution, and published "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection." In the late-mid 19th century, his "Origin of Species" became highly controversial. He also wrote "The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex" Darwin died in the late 19th century. |
