John Dalton

John Dalton is known chiefly for his introduction of modern atomic theory into chemistry and thus into modern science. He was was born in 1766 CE and died in 1844 CE. More details about his life and work will be included as the site develops further.

   

Science is not directly useful to the study of Dalton's life, although he indirectly made contributions to physics and to chemistry. Astronomy, earth science, and biology are less well connected. Dalton was born in the late-mid 18th century. He lived partly during the late 18th century. but most of his work was done in the 19th century. He worked and proposed his atomic theory of chemistry during the early 19th century and the early-mid 19th century. He died in the mid 19th century.
