Blair was born 6 May 1953 in Edinburgh, Scotland. I do not have information about the early 1960s. In the late 1960s, he attended Fettes College, an elite school there. In the early 1970s, in 1972 entered Oxford University to study law. He graduated in 1975. I do not yet have information about the late 1970s. In 1983 he was elected to Parliament as a member of the Labour party. He served in various positions in the "shadow" goverment, the opposition party's parallel to government ministries, including a term beginning in 1992 as shadow Home Secretary. |

In 1994 he was chosen as Labour party leader and led a successful effort to change a key provision in the Labour Party's official position and change its popular image as "New Labour". In elections in 1997, the Labour party won a substantial majority in Parliament and Blair succeded John Major as Prime Minister. In 1998 he won support for reforms and a reduction in size of the House of Lords. In the early 2000s, in 2001 the Labour party continued in power. Blair announced his support for the war on terror, and was one of the few world leaders to support the US - led invasion of Iraq. I do not yet have details of the late 2000s including 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010. For the Early 2010s including 2011 I do not yet have details.
