This report on what's new only lists new pages that have been added to the knowledge base since June 29, 2007. This does not list every change: As the base grows, new links are continually being made. Lines and paragraphs are, expanded, or rewritten. The new pages give a sample of what work is being done. |

Although I gave up regular updates of this What's new page, I've been continuing to work on the knowledge base, and have done a couple of updates. With this latest version, I now have continuous coverage all periods from early prehistory to this month, with no gaps. There is also increased detail on specific countries, and the various aids, which are more numerous and details with each succeeding period. Also, I have created pages for all 50 states of the US.
Sociology -> Peoples -> Western Civilization -> Latin peoples a new Italic peoples page (for the Roman empire and Italy) has been created.
Science. The history section of this page has been separated into a new History of Science page.

Science -> Physics -> Structure of matter > Bulk Matter I have added a plasma page, which gives bulk matter a full set of subdivisions.
Science -> Chemistry -> Subtances > Elements I have moved the periodic table to a new page.

I have begin a project of simplifying page when they have reached a certain degree of complexity. In particular, I have separated the sociology content from the history page into a separate sociology applied to history page.

Culture -> Behavioral culture has undergone a reorganization. The performing arts page is being eliminated and replaced by a new recreation and entertainment page which includes areas of music, theater, and dance, along with games and sports. The occupations page has been revised and expanded, and the customs page revised and expanded.

I had let the site map lag far behind the development of the rest of the knowledge base. It is now up to date.
The development pattern of the SKB takes organic growth as model. A new page begins without much substance and no active links to other areas. Over time, links to other areas are added, other pages added to the new page, more content is added to a page, and the content is revised and expanded, a line here and a paragraph there. When a page is sufficiently developed, it serves as a base to which new pages may be added, and the process repeats. Hardly any single event in the growth of a tree is newsworthy.
It would probably be as tedious to read a report on every new link that I've created as it would be cumbersome to write it. What I can do for those who may not wish to browse the entire knowledge base looking for changes is to just mention new pages, as well as significant reorganizations or rewrites of existing pages.
