Although pagan religion deals with nature and thus overlaps with science, they tend to explain things in very different ways. Physics and chemistry are not strongly connected. Astronomy, earth science, and biology have better connections. Personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography can be connected. Anthropology including social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, human geography, human ecology, and particular groups is less useful. Culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture is important to pagan religion. It is connected to families, education, and economics. Government including law, government activity, government structure, and particular governments has some connections. This is connected to religious beliefs, practice, organization, and other particular religions including Asiatic religion, Abrahamic religion, and secularism. |

SociologySocial structure and change including social structure, social types, and social change can be connected. Communities will be important in considering these. Peoples of the world will be useful in examining this. Asiatic peoples and African peoples are closely connected to this subject. Nations such as Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Russia are important. Western Civilization has had come connection. The United States can be connected. Asiatic peoples such as those of Indonesia can be connected. South Asian peoples such as those of India can be connected. Oriental peoples such as those of China can be connected. American Indian peoples such as those found in the United States can also be connected. HistoryPagan religion dates from prehistory including possibly early prehistory, middle prehistory, and late prehistory. These can be followed in antiquity, including the 5th millennium BC and 4th millennium BC. In the 3rd Millennium BC, distinctively religious writings can be examined. These religions were prominent in the 2nd millennium BC and the early 1st millennium BC. In classical and medieval times, they began to be supplanted by the modern religions. This process more or less began in early classic times, but continued in late classical times. In early medieval times, certain of the pagan religions declined yet further. In late medieval times, even more decline ws evident. During modern times, they have increasingly lost adherents, but survive. The 16th century, 17th century, and 18th century can be examined. During the 19th century, Increasing contact with Western civilizations led to a decline in Asian and American Indian pagan religions. Details of the 20th century including the early 20th century, early-mid 20th century, mid 20th century, late-mid 20th century, late 20th century, are difficult to generalize. They are little known in the early 21st century including the early 2000s. I have few references to them in the late 2000s including 2006. Direct references in 2007 including the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter, and fourth quarter are likely to be scarce. Their future is uncertain. |
