Asiatic religions include three major groups: Persian religion, Indian religion, and Oriental religion. |
|
These are religions that had their origins in India, and include Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism
This group originated and is largely found among Oriental peoples. It includes Confucianism, Taoism, and Shinto.
These religions were once sufficiently important to classify as major world religions, but have been more or less supplanted. They include Zoroastrianism, Manicheanism, and Mithraism

The connections and applications of science are mostly indirect. Physics, chemistry, earth science, and biology may possible be connected. Personal studies including the human body and psychology will be useful, although these have to be taken carefully. Biography will be highly important. |

Anthropology is useful for social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, human ecology, human geography, and particular groups. Culture, including material and conceptual components is also important. Behavioral culture including customs, occupations, recreation and entertainment, and cultural events will be useful. Connections to families and education will also be discussed. Economics including economic activities, industry, and economic systems can be connected. Government including law, government activity, government structure, and particular governments is also important. These are connected to religious belief, practice, and organization including unstructured, fragmented, and highly organized religion. Connections to Abrahamic religion, secularism, and pagan religion will also be included. The application of sociology to asiatic religions will be examined as this site expands. Their connections to social structure and change including social structure, social types, and social cnange and to communities will be significant.Their distribution among peoples of the world is signficant. Much information can be gathered from particular nations such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia, Nigeria, Japan, Mexico, and the Philippines, Asiatic religions are primarily distributed among asiatic peoples and found in such nations as Indonesia. South Asian peoples including India are particularly important. Oriental peoples such as those of China can be connected. Connections to Western civilization and nations such as Brazil can be found. Anglic peoples such as those of the United States are fairly weakly connected. Connections to African peoples, and American Indian peoples found in the United States and Brazil are much less significant. Asiatic religions have an extensive history. Some of them originated in antiquity, including the 5th millenium BC, the 4th millennium BC, the 3d millennium BC, and the 2nd millennium BC. During the early first millennium BC, Buddha initiated major developments in the Indian tradition, and Confucius in the Oriental tradition. Various of these had substantial spread during classical and medieval times, though at present I lack details on early classical, late classical, early medieval, or late medieval times. During modern history they continued to be important. I lack details for the 16th century, 17th century, or 18th century. In the 19th century I do not yet have a clear record of development of Asiatic religion, through the early 19th century, early mid 19th century, mid 19th century, late-mid 19th century, or late 19th century. In the 20th century, Asiatic religion does not seem to have greatly changed. Details are lacking for the early 20th century, the early-mid 20th century, the mid 20th century, and the late-mid 20th century. The late 20th century including the early 1980s, late 1980s, early 1990s, and late 1990s can be considered. The early 21st century will have discussion of recent events in the early 2000s including 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. Current events in the late 2000s, including 2006 can be identified. In 2007, events of the first quarter, second quarter, third quarter, and fourth quarter can be examined. 2008 has not yet been examined. Their future has not been closely examined. |
