Local governments

Local governments are not yet classified. There are two chief divisions: Dependent, and Autonomous. The officials of governments are appointed by a higher authority, while those of autonomous governments are selected locally.

These might also be classified as Regional, subregional, municipal, and tribal.

The history of local government is somewhat difficult to trace. Its origins are lost in prehistory, but there is some precedent for them in antiquity. I do not yet have details of the 5th millennium BC, 4th millennium BC, 3rd millennium BC, 2nd millennium BC, or 1st millennium BC. There is some evidence of them in classical and medieval times including early classical, late classical, early medieval, and late medieval times.

Local governments as presently known have arisen and spread worldwide in the modern period. References to them up to the 19th century will be found as the site is further examined.

I have particular interest in the 20th century. I have little information on developments through the early 20th century, early mid 20th century, mid 20th century or late mid 20th century. The late 20th, century can also be connected.

The early 21st century including the early 2000s can be examined.

The late 2000s including 1006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 can be connected. 2010 including the first quarter 2010, second quarter 2010, and third quarter 2010 can be connected. The fourth quarter 2010 including October 2010, and November 2010 can be considered. December 2010 including 2011 week 49, 2011 week 50, 2011 week 51, 2011 week 52, and 2011 week 53 can be connected.

The early 2010s can be connected. 2011 can be connected. The first quarter 2011 can be connected. January 2011 including 2011 week 1, 2011 week 2, 2011 week 3, 2011 week 4, 2011 week 5, and 2011 week 6 can be connected. February 2011 can be connected. Their future is unknown.

The sociology of particular local governments will be investigated in more detail as the site develops. Peoples including Asiatic peoples, African peoples, and American Indian peoples have a variety of local governments. Particular nations such as China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Russia can be examined for varieties of local government. Western civilization including the United States, American Indian peoples including those found in the United States can also be considered. Communities including Tokyo, Seoul, Mexico City, and New York city can be considered. Social structure and change including social change, social types, and social structure will be important.

Other Institutions

Connections with religion including particular religions, religious organization, religious practice, and religious belief may appear.

Their law , structure, and activities may also be developed. The connections with national and international governments are particularly significant.

Their connections with economics, education, and families will also be considered.

Culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture will also be significant. Connections to anthropology including social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, human geography, human ecology, and particular groups can be made. Personal studies including biography, psychology, and the human body can be connected.
