Government activities

There are several kinds of govenment activities, which seem to fall into three principal groups. These include administration, such as tax collection, public works, and internal conflict resolution; succession, and state relations.

Administration

Succession

This includes methods of election, inheritance, appointment, and seizure.

State relations

This includes espionage, diplomacy, and warfare

Science is only indirectly applicable to the study of government activities. Physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, and biology do not seem to be very useful.

Approaches based on personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography are more likely to be useful.

Anthropology including social foundations, demography, human geography, physical anthropology, human ecology, and particular groups will also be useful.

Government activity depends heavily on culture, including material culture and conceptual culture. Behavioral culture including customs, occupation, performing arts, sports and games, and cultural events is significant.

Institutions

Govenment activities are closely related to families inlcuing marriage, parenting, kinship, and particular families. Education including research, teaching, cultural institutions, educational organization, and particular schools can be connected. They are also connected to economics including industries, economic activities, economic systems, and companies.

They are also based on law, government structure, and vary with particular governments including local governments, national government, and international governent.

Religion is also important. Religious belief and practice, may have significant influence. Religious organization including unstructured, fragmented, and highly structured varieties may be useful. Particular traditions including abrahamic, asiatic, pagan, and secularist traditions all have influence.

Sociology

Social structure and change including social structure, social types, and social change is significant.

Communities including Tokyo, Seoul, Mexico City, and New York City are also significant.

Examples can be taken from various peoples of the earth, and include those of and African peoples. Nations such as Russia, Nigeria, Japan, Mexico, and the Philippines offer a starting point. Western civilization including Brazil offers substantial information about government activity. Anglic peoples including those of the United States are especially important. Asiatic peoples such as those of Bangladesh, can be examined. South Asian people such as those of India and Pakistan can be examined. Oriental peoples such as those of China can be considered. Southeast Asian peoples such as those of Indonesia can be connected. American Indian peoples such as are found in the United States and Brazil are less directly connected.

History

Generally speaking, as technology and culture have advanced through history, governments have become more powerful and extended their range of activities. Little information is yet available from prehistory or antiquity for most of these, but developments in classical and medieval history including early classical, late classical, early medieval, and late medieval times can be gathered. Modern history can also be followed. Activities of administration, succession, and state relations can be followed in many cases. The 16th century and 17th century can be examined. In the 18th century, Industrialization began to affect government activity. The early 18th century, early mid 18th century, mid 18th century, late-mid 18th century, and late 18th century can be connected.

In the 19th century, as industrialization progressed, it was reflected in changes in government activity in the early 19th century, early mid 19th century, mid 19th century, late-mid 19th century, and late 19th century.

In the 20th century, rapid changes in society are reflected in government activity. In the early 20th century, World War I serves as an example. In the early-mid 20th century, other developments became important. In the mid 20th century, World War II and the Cold War, other developments were influential. In the late-mid 20th century, the middle of the Cold War suggests still other developments. I lack sufficient detail on the late 20th century including the early 1980s, late 1980s, early 1990s, and late 1990s.

I also lack detail on recent and current events of the early 21st century including the early 2000s and late 2000s, and particular years of 2006 and 2007 down to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd quarter including July, August, and September, and the 4th quarter including October, November, and December to detail government activities. The future is obscure.
