During modern history, examination of parenting and parent-child relations can be followed to some extent through the 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, 19th century, and 20th century, including the early 20th century, early mid 20th century, late mid 20th century, late 20th century, and early 21st century. The future has not yet been closely examined.
