Farming began in Italy and far southwest Europe, and along Nile River. Cattle and sheep herding began in eastern Africa. Farming began at Hassuna in Mesopotamia, irrigated farming at Samarra in southern Mesopotamia. Plant domestication continued in Mesoamerica.
