Feb 2. War in Somalia: Eight people were killed in a mortar attack in Somalia's capital Mogadishu.

Asiatic people [such as those of Indonesia can also be considered.]

Feb 2. Palestinian factional violence: Hamas and its rival Fatah renewed their truce when violence broke off again after the initial ceasefire.

Feb 3. A State of Emergency was declared in Indonesia after 'El Nino'-like flooding.

Feb 3. Five people killed and 40 injured in a series of car bombs in the Iraqi city of Kirkuk.

Feb 3. A truck bombing in a crowded Baghdad market killed at least 130 people and injures a further 305 others.

South Asian peoples including peoples of India have various events.

Central Asian peoples including some peoples of China have few events associated with them.

Oriental peoples, including most peoples of China, have more.

Feb 2 - Chinese President Hu Jintao signed a series of economic deals with Sudan, which China had protected from UN sanctions.

13 Feb. North Korea agreed to shut down its nuclear facilities in Yongbyon by April 14 as a first step towards complete denuclearization, receiving in return energy aid equivalent to 50,000 tons of heavy fuel oil.

13 Feb. Taiwan opposition leader Ma Ying-jeou resigned as the chairman of the Kuomintang party after being indicted on charges of embezzlement; Ma also announced his candidacy for the 2008 presidential election.

Western civilization, including Brazil also has numerous important events.

Feb 1. Russian President Putin said that Russia was not seeking to use oil and gas prices to attain foreign political goals, but trying to establish fair prices after years of supplying gas and oil at below-market prices to former Soviet neighbors. He also denied government involvement in the polonium poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko.

Feb 2. One 38-year old policeman was killed in the Catania football clashes in Italy. 71 people were taken to hospitals.

Feb 2. Martti Ahtisaari unveiled a United Nations plan for the final status of Kosovo. Serbian leaders denounced the proposal.

Feb 3. Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi canceled all football matches in Italy while an investigation into riots on February 2 began.

11 Feb. Portuguese voters agreed to legalise abortion in a national referendum.

Anglic peoples including the United States are highly important

Feb 1. British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, was questioned for a second time in Scotland Yard's 'Cash for peerages' probe. Calls for an early departure for Blair increased.

Feb 2. The Central Florida Tornado of February 2007 killed at least 20 people.

Feb 3. The deadly H5N1 strain of Bird Flu was found at a Bernard Matthews turkey farm in Suffolk.

Feb 3. British Prime Minister Tony Blair urged Labour Party to 'weather the storm' during current political crisis for the party. He stated that 'policies will win the next election'.

Feb 4. AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts defeated the NFC Champion Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI at Dolphins Stadium, Miami, Florida.

10 Feb. U.S. Senator Barack Obama of Illinois announced a presidential bid in Springfield, Illinois.

11 Feb. The 49th Annual Grammy Awards took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

12 Feb. An armed gunman shot and killed five people at the Trolley Square Mall in Salt Lake City, Utah, before being killed by the police, bringing the evening's rampage death toll to six.

African peoples, and American Indian peoples such as are found in the US and Brazil,can also be examined.

This will be connected in various ways to institutions including families, education, and economics. Government including law, government activity, government structure, and particular governments will be useful. Religion including religious belief, practice, organization, and particular religions will be useful.

Culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and behavioral culture will also be useful.

17 Feb. The 2007 NBA All-Star Game was held in the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

18 Feb. Melbourne Victory beatd Adelaide United 6-0 in the 2006–2007 A-League Grand Final at the Telstra Dome in Melbourne, Australia.

18 Feb. Kevin Harvick won the 2007 Daytona 500.

Anthropology including social foundations, demography, physical anthropology, human ecology, human geography, and particular groups may be significant.

Personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography will be useful.

Science including physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, and biology may be connected.

2 Feb. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change publishes its fourth assessment report, concluding that global climate change is "very likely" to have a predominantly human cause.
