25 Apr. The Burj Dubai reached the height of the Sears Tower on its way to becoming the tallest building in the world. Its construction is led by Samsung E&C and was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the same company that designed the Sears Tower.

7 Apr. The Michigan State Spartans defeated the Boston College Eagles in the NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship in St. Louis, Missouri.

8 Apr. Zach Johnson wins the 2007 Masters Tournament. April 10 - NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspends Tennessee Titans star cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones for the entire 2007 season.

12 Apr. U.S. negotiator to the DPRK nuclear issue, Christopher Hill, stated that North Korea is expected to meet the April 14 deadline for shutting down its nuclear facilities in Yongbyon as previously agreed.

12 Apr. - Radio personality Don Imus was fired by CBS for making controversial comments about the Rutgers women's basketball team.

16 Apr. The Virginia Tech massacre took place in the premises of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. 32 people were shot dead by Seung-Hui Cho in the deadliest single shooting incident in the history of the United States. Two days later a video diatribe was presented by NBC News.

17 Apr. The Pound Sterling hits a 15-year high against the US dollar, breaking through the US$2 level for the first time since 1992.

19 Apr. US and allied air forces conducted massive exercises over South Korea with over 500 planes.

20 Apr. Two were dead after a shooting at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston.

21 Apr. A Blue Angels plane #6 crashed during an air show in Beaufort, South Carolina, killing pilot Kevin Davis.

25 Apr. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 135.95 points to close at 13089.89; its first close above 13000 in its history

25 Apr. A U.S. Congressman introduced articles to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney.

28 Apr. An earthquake registering 4.3 on the Richter scale struck Kent, England, United Kingdom.
