2006

This has a number of fairly recent events. In the 1st quarter, the war crimes trial related to the breakup of the former Yugoslavia came to an end when Slobodan Milosevic was found dead in his cell. The Prime Minister of Israel became ill. In the 2nd quarter, Serbia and Montenegro split, a change in the leadership of Israel took place, and South Korea elected its first female Prime Minister. In the 3rd quarter, changes in the leadership of Mexico and Japan took place. In the 4th quarter, US Congressional elections gave the Democratic party control of both houses of Congress.

2007

Current events are being analyzed. In the 1st quarter, the European Union expanded, and North Korea agreed to shut down its nuclear program. In the 2nd quarter, British Prime Minister Tony Blair resigned and was succeeded by Gordon Brown. Events of the 3rd quarter, and the 4th quarter are being examined and categorized.

2008

Events of the first quarter 2008 are being considered for now. Events of the second quarter 2008 are also being considered. In the third quarter 2008, The failure of several large US banks and corporations signaled a global financial crisis. The South Ossetia war between Russia and Georgia broke out. A US-India treaty on nuclear weapons was signed, Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan was succeeded by Asif Ali Zadari. China hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics, and conducted a third manned space mission. Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda resigned and was succeeded by Taro Aso. In the fourth quarter 2008, the global financial crisis deepened. Barak Obama was elected President of the United States.


Science

Physics and chemistry do not seem to be directly useful. Astronomy including solar system astronomy, stellar astronomy, galactic astronomy, and cosmology can be considered. Earth science including geology, hydrospheric science, atmospheric science, physical geography, and geohistory can be connected. Biology including molecular biology, cell biology, organism biology, systematics, ecology, and biohistory can be connected.

Conceptual culture such as language, graphic arts, literature, mathematics, applied science, and philosophy, and behavioral culture such as customs, and occupations can also be connected. Recreation and entertainment including music, dance, theater, games, and sports can be considered. Cultural events such as miscellaneous events, meetings, holidays, and disasters can be considered.

Institutions

Families including marriage, parenting, kinship, and particular families will be significant.

Education including research and teaching is important. Cultural institutions including museums, libraries, and performance venues can be considered. Educational organization including course material, students, faculty, and administration will be useful. Particular schools in connection with primary education, secondary education, and higher education can be considered.

Economics is also significant. Economic activities including production, distribution and exchange, and consumption can be considered. Industries based on particular companies, including agriculture, extraction and manufacturing, building and construction, social and medical services, transportation, communication, and commercial and financial services are important. Economic systems including firms, networks, system types, and system behavior such as growth, decline, and cycles can be considered.

Government including law and traditions of tribal law, Asiatic law, Western law, and International law can be examined somewhat. Government structure such as political parties, judicial systems, legislative systems, executive systems, heads of state, and government forms also needs to be examined. Government activity including administration, succession, and interstate relations is highly important. Particular governments including local government, national government, and International goverments are also important. Traditional empires are absent and only vestiges of colonial governments remain. Modern compacts including temporary alliances, special purpose organizations, regional organizations, and world governments can be connected.

Religion including beliefs and practices can be examined. Religious organization including unstructured, fragmented, and highly organized varieties can be examined. particular religions also need to be examined. Abrahamic religion including Islam, and Judaism is important. Christianity including Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, and Mormon varieties are significant. Asiatic religion including Indian, Persian, and Oriental varieties is more widespread. Secularism is also important. Pagan religion including European pagan, Asian pagan, African pagan, American Indian, and Neopaganism is mostly of historical or minor interest.

Sociology

Social structure and change

Social structure including anthropological structure, cultural structure, institutional structure, class organization, and Community and regional structure can be examined. Social types including hunting-gathering, horticultural, agrarian, and industrial societies are also important. Social change can be examined. Social change factors including natural change, demographic change, cultural change, and institutional change cn be considered. Social change processes including innovation, transmission, adaptation, and extinction can be considered. Particular changes are in part limited to late developments of the Agrarian revolution, Developments of the Industrial revolution including the early industrial revolution, middle industrial revolution, and computerization can be examined.

This depends heavily on peoples of the world, including particular nations [such as Kazakhstan, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ecuador, Malawi, Niger, Guatemala, Zimbabwe, Angola, Senegal, Mali, Zambia, Cuba, Greece, Portugal, Belgium].

Western civilization is also significant. [Chile, cities of Chicago].

This includes Anglic peoples such as those of the United States with its cities of New York City and Los Angeles, the UK, Canada, and Australia. Cities include London.

Latin peoples are also important. These include cities such as Paris, and nations such as those of Venezuela. Italic peoples including those of Italy are important. French peoples including those of France can be connected. Hispanic peoples include Mexico with its principal city of Mexico City, Colombia, Spain, Argentina with its city of Buenos Aires, and Peru. Lusitanic peoples including those of Brazil with its cities of Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro can be connected.

Northeast European peoples such as those of Russia with its principal city of Moscow, Ukraine, and Poland are also important.

Germanic peoples such as those of Germany and Netherlands are significant. Balkan peoples such are found in Romania are also significant.

Middle Eastern peoples such as those of Yemen are important. Cities include Istanbul. Mesopotamian peoples including those of Iraq have been important. Egypt with its city of Cairo does not seem to have been highly visible in the past few years. Turkey which shares a border with Iraq, has been more noticeable. Persian peoples including Iran with its city of Tehran and Afghanistan have been noticeable. North African peoples including those of Morocco and Algeria may be noted. Arabian peoples including Saudi Arabia have also been prominent.

South Asian peoples such as those of India with its cities of Bombay, Delhi and Calcutta; Pakistan with its city of Karachi; Bangladesh; Nepal; and Sri Lanka are also important. Cities include Dacca.

Central Asian peoples found in China, Russia, and Uzbekistan are less well known.

Oriental peoples including nations such as those of China with its cities of Shanghai,Beijing, Shenzhen, Canton, and Chungking; Japan with its principal cities of Tokyo and Osaka, South Korea with its principal city of Seoul, North Korea and Taiwan are important. Cities include Wuhan.

Southeast Asian peoples including Indonesia with its city of Jakarta; the Philippines; Vietnam; Thailand; Myanmar; Malaysia, and Australia are also important. Cities include Manila.]

African peoples such as those of Cameroon, will also be connected. Cities such as Lagos wll be significant. East African peoples such as those of Ethiopia Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda are important. West African peoples including those of Nigeria, Ghana, and Côte D'Ivorie will be significant. Southern African peoples including those of South Africa, Mozambique, and Madagascar can be connected. Central African peoples such as those of Congo (DR) can be considered.

American Indian peoples as found in Chile may also be connected. Meso-American Indians such as those found in Mexico may be useful. South American Indians such as those found in Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Venezuela can be considered. North American Indians including those found in the United States and Canada can be connected.

Other History

This is not yet connected to other areas of history through classical and medieval times. It is also only weakly connected to modern history through the 19th century. It is also weakly connected with the 20th century through the late 20th century. It is part of the early 21st century and directly follows the early 2000s, specifically the year 2005.

This period is directly connected to the future. The near future including next month (December 2007 and January 2008), next quarter including February 2008 and March 2008, and next year is more directly applicable than the middle future or far future.
