Peoples of the world can be used to examine the early 5th millennium BC, early mid 5th millennium BC, mid 5th millennium BC, late mid 5th millennium BC, and late 5th millennium BC.
Particular nations can be examined. Angola, Zimbabwe, Mali, Zambia, Cuba, Greece, Portugal, Belgium Tunisia, Czech Republic, Guinea, Rwanda, Serbia, Chad, Hungary, Belarus, Somalia, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Sweden, Haiti, Burundi, Benin, Austria, Azerbaijan, Honduras, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Tajikistan, Israel, El Salvador, Hong Kong, Paraguay, Laos, Sierra Leone, Jordan, Libya, Papua New Guinea, Togo, Nicaragua, Denmark, Slovakia, Kyrgystan, Finland, Turkmenistan, Eritrea, Norway, Georgia, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia can be considered.
Asiatic peoples were beginning to develop civilization. I have no details of Cambodia
The Middle East had Neolithic farming communities in various places. I know little of Syria in this period. Among Mesopotamian peoples, in Iraq urban civilization was developing. In Turkey there were significant Neolithic farming settlements in this period. In Egypt, this is considered part of the predynastic period and there were neolithic farming settlements. Among Persian peoples, in Iran there were significant Neolithic settlements. I know little of Afghanistan. Among Arabian peoples, Saudi Arabia can be connected, though I have no details. Yemen can be connected. I know little of North Africa including Morocco during this period. In Algeria there were inhabitants with Neolithic cultures.
South Asian peoples including India where Neolithic farming villages appeared in the north can be examined. I know little of Pakistan during this period, but at least one important neolithic settlement had begun to practice metalworking. I know little of Bangladesh in this period. I know little of Nepal or Sri Lanka.
Central Asian peoples including those of Kazakhstan can be connected. Inner Asian peoples including those of Uzbekistan can be connected.
Oriental peoples including those of China where the Neolithic Yang Shao peoples appeared can be considered. Taiwan may have been settled by aborigines who spoke languages ancestral to the Austronesian lanuages. I know little of Japan during this period. South Korea and North Korea can be connected.
Southeast Asian peoples can be considered, but I know nothing of Australia. Peoples of Mainland Southeast Asia can be connected. I know nothing of Vietnam, Thailand, Burma, or Malaysia. Peoples of the Southeast Asian archipelagoes are little known. I know nothing of Indonesia in this period. I know little of the Philippines in this period.
Western civilization, or rather its predecessors, seem to have been in transition between Mesolithic and Neolithic cultures during this millennium. The Netherlands can be connected. Anglic peoples seem to have been in transition between Mesolithic and Neolithic cultures. What is now the UK shows signs of this transition. Latin peoples or their predecessors also seem to have been in transition between Mesolithic and Neolithic culture. Spain was inhabited by peoples of Neolithic cultures. Italic peoples had numerous farming villages in Italy. Among French peoples, there seems to have been a transition from Mesolithic cultures to Neolithic cultures and associatons with Middle Eastern peoples. Neolithic farming may have been introduced into France by people called the Danubians. For Germanic peoples, I know nothing of Germany in this period. Northeast European peoples had representatives of Neolithic peoples. I know nothing of Russia in this period. In Ukraine a Neolithic culture can be identified. Poland seems to have been inhabited by Neolithic peoples. Among Balkan peoples, Romania seems to have been inhabited by Neolithic peoples.
African peoples can be examined. I have very little information for Senegal. In Eastern Africa, I know little of Uganda. Northern East African peoples including those of Ethiopia can be considered. Interior East African peoples incuding those of Sudan can be connected. Central East African peoples including those of Tanzania and Kenya can be connected. I also know little of Western Africa including Niger in this period. Southern Coastal West African peoples including those of Nigeria, Ghana, and Cote d'Ivoire can be connected. Interior West Africa including Burkina Faso can be connected. I have also not yet examined Southern Africa including Malawi for this period. South Africa can be connected. Mozambique can be connected. Madagascar can be connected. I have not yet examined Central Africa including Congo and Cameroon for this period.
American Indian peoples can perhaps be identified. I know little of Guatemala in this period. I know little of Middle American Indians including those of Mexico during this period. Southwestern American Indian peoples including those of the southestern United States can be connected. I know little of South American Indians in this period. I know nothing of Ecuador in this period. Andean peoples including those of Chile can be considered. Colombia can be connected. Argentina can be connected. Peru can be connected. Venezuela can be connected. Amazonian peoples including those of Brazil and Argentina can be considered. Cono/Southern American Indian peoples including those of Chile can be connected. Argentina can be connected. I know little of North American Indian peoples such as those that lived in what is now the United States and Canada. Eastern North American Indian peoples , Western North American Indian peoples, and Northern North American peoples can be connected.
Communities can be used to examine the early 5th millennium BC, early mid 5th millennium BC, mid 5th millennium BC, late mid 5th millennium BC, and late 5th millennium BC, but few of the major cities of the present can be traced to this period.
