Games are an important part of society, one that is not always well examined. Sporting events, such as baseball gmes or the Olympic games, are considered under sports. This includes board games, games of chance, computer games, and various other categories.

Connections to sociology including social structure and change and communities will be particularly important. Peoples of the world including nations, Western Civilization, Asiatic peoples, African peoples, and American Indian peoples can be considered.

The history of games is long and not well known. They are known from prehistory and antiquity and better known in classical and medieval times. They have become important in modern times, including the 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, 19th century, and 20th century. Their future remains to be examined.
