These will include customs of marriage and child rearing, customs of research and teaching, occupational customs, political and governmental customs, and religious ceremonies and rituals.

Science including physics, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, and biology can be connected. Personal studies including the human body, psychology, and biography can be connected. Anthropology including social fundamentals, demography, physical anthropology, human ecology, human ecology, and particular groups will be highly 8mportant to the study of customs. Other areas of culture including material culture, conceptual culture, and other areas of behavioral culture are also important. Institutions including families, education, and economics will provide examples. Government including law, government structure, government activity, and particular goverments will illustrate some of them. Religion including religious belief, practice, organization, and particular religions will be useful. |

Social change including factors of change, processes, and particular changes will be useful. Communities will be connected. These are closely connected to particular peoples, including African peoples Nations such as Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Russia can be connected. Western Civilization including the United States can be examined. Asiatic peoples including those of India can be connected. Oriental peoples including those of China can be connected. American Indian peoples such as those found in the United States can be examined. HistoryThe prehistory of customs can be examined in a largely indirect manner from material evidence. This is scanty in early prehistory, but can be more easily followed through middle and late prehistory. Customs can be somewhat better followed through antiquity including the 5th millennium BC, the 4th millennium BC, the 3rd millennium BC, the 2nd millennium BC, and the early first millennium BC. Classical and medieval history including early classical, late classical, early medieval, and late medieval times is also useful. Various aspects of modern history including the 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, 19th century, and 20th century can be followed. The early 20th century, early-mid 20th century, mid 20th century, late-mid 20th century, late 20th century and early 21st century can be considered. The future is not yet examined. |
